The July 1 Sunday summer service, “Shakerism in Maine” will be led by Leonard L. Brooks, Retired Director, Sabbathday Lake Shaker Museum and Shaker Library. This will be offered as a modified Shaker-style service with traditional seating, psalms, testimonies and prayer.  Only limited UU ritual will be included.  Leonard’s message will contain information about Shaker founder Mother Ann, the historical connection between the Alfred Shakers and SUUC, and present-day life in the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Community.  This service will be held in historic, air-conditioned Goodall Hall, 9:30-10:30 AM.
