Please join us this Sunday as we welcome Tom Putnam with his service titled Marchin’ up to Freedom’s Land. This service will reflect on the history of the civil rights movement with a special focus on Reverend James Reeb, a Unitarian Minister originally from Kansas and Wyoming who, in 1965, traveled from Boston (where he was working) to Selma in responding to Martin Luther King Jr.’s call to action on behalf of voting rights. After the second of three marches across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, Reverend Reeb was viciously attacked by local thugs and tragically died. We’ll also be treated to two special performances by our very own UUNotes celebrating Valentine’s Day.
