Remembering Ric Masten

Please join us this Sunday as we welcome Rev. Steve Edington with his service titled Remembering Ric Masten.

Rev. Steve writes:

I’ve made several references to Ric Masten in some of my sermons over the past few months, so I’ll wrap up my year in Sanford with you by sharing some of his life as I came to know it when Ric and I collaborated on a book about his life and career as a poet and UU minister. The title is Troubadour and Poet: The Magical Ministry of Ric Masten. Ric passed away 16 years ago this month in May of 2008. It was a joy spending time with him and getting a sense of what he brought to our UU community in the latter part of the 20th century and the early 21st. His troubadour ministry greatly enhanced the flavor of Unitarian Universalism in the congregations and other UU settings where he performed. And, of course, we’ll conclude with his signature song Let It Be A Dance.
